Frequently Asked Questions
1. How many GarageTherm products are there?
The following 4 GarageTherm products are available:
- Luxe White – For a more homely and luxurious appearance
- Graphite Pro – Grey in colour for a more “chic” appearance
- Silver - Aluminium foil facing to reflect light and for an industrial appearance
- Nude - Budget option purely for thermal comfort
2. What is GarageTherm Garage Door Insulation made of?
GarageTherm uses High Performance Construction Grade Expanded Polystyrene (EPS). Luxe White comes with an easy to clean, durable white polypropylene surface and a durable aluminium foil surface on the back which creates a reflective cavity between the insulation and the garage door, increasing the thermal resistance even further when installed correctly. Graphite Pro contains graphite which offers a higher thermal resistance than standard or regular EPS. Silver comes with pure aluminium foil on the front and back, providing an increased thermal performance and reflects internal light well. Nude is free of any facing and acts purely as a thermal barrier between the outside and the inside of your garage
3. What are the size/dimensions of the panels
All kits are available in 25mm and 35mm thick panels and the panel dimensions are 1195mm x 595mm.
4. How effective is GarageTherm at reducing temperatures in my garage?
GarageTherm can naturally reduce your internal garage temperatures by 7-13 degrees, depending on your garage door’s orientation and the outdoor temperature. It helps minimise heat transfer in all climates, keeping the heat out during summer and in during winter.
5. Will GarageTherm fit my existing garage door?
GarageTherm is specifically designed to retrofit most sectional garage doors manufactured in Australia. It is highly recommended though that you measure and count your panels first prior to ordering
6. How does GarageTherm affect energy efficiency?
By reducing heat gain and loss through your garage door, GarageTherm lowers the need for additional heating and cooling, helping reduce energy bills.
7. Will GarageTherm help with noise reduction?
Yes. GarageTherm significantly decreases external noise and makes garage doors operate more quietly, making your garage a quieter and more functional space.
8. Can I install GarageTherm insulation myself?
Yes, GarageTherm offer DIY kits for easy, self-installation. Installation instructions are provided in each kit
9. Can I use glue to hold the panels in place?
Yes, for a more permanent fix, you can use construction grade adhesive to fix the panels to the garage door. The 35mm panels however will usually fit snugly into your door and for the 25mm panels, you can use foam spacers to secure the panels in place. If using glue, you will need to ensure that the glue can be used on the 2 surfaces being bonded (e.g foil, polystyrene, aluminium, steel etc.).
10. Is GarageTherm an Australian product?
Yes, GarageTherm is proudly Australian-owned and manufactured, designed to withstand Australia's harsh climate conditions.
11. How do I maintain and clean the GarageTherm panels?
The white laminate finish on GarageTherm’s Luxe White panels is impact-resistant and easy to clean, and the Silver panels can be cleaned with a slightly damp cloth. There is little need for cleaning the Graphite Pro panels or the nude panels – perhaps just the occasional dusting.
12.Where can I buy GarageTherm insulation?
GarageTherm products can be purchased directly via the GarageTherm website – garagetherm.com.au/collections/all
13. Can you deliver GarageTherm products

reflective cavity between the insulation and the garage door. This optimises the thermal efficiency and comfort when installed in your garage door with a reflective airspace.
